15 Celebrity Feuds From The 2010s You Might Have Forgotten About

Naya Rivera vs. Lea Michele

What happened: Naya and Lea’s Glee characters were often at odds and it turns out life imitated art! Rumors swirled that the two were constantly bickering around set and Naya seemed to confirm this when she released her memoir, Sorry Not Sorry: Dreams, Mistakes and Growing Up, back in 2016. Naya wrote that it got to the point “where Lea didn’t say a word to [her] for all of Season 6.” However, she also said the feud was “blown out of proportion.”

Has it been resolved? We haven’t really see the two hang out since Glee ended, but according to an interview Naya did with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live in February 2019, there’s no beef.

Mariah Carey vs. Nicki Minaj

What happened: Back in 2013, Mariah and Nicki joined Randy Jackson and Keith Urban as judges on American Idol and rumors almost immediately spread that the two divas weren’t exactly ~getting along~. Mariah said there was no feud, but two weeks later a video surfaced of Mariah and Nicki fighting at a round of auditions in Charlotte, North Carolina, and things were never really the same after that.

Has it been resolved? In 2015, Mariah again claimed the feud was “nonexistent,” however in a 2016 Watch What Happens Live interview, she refused to say anything about Nicki Minaj. When asked to say something nice about her former costar, Mariah instead asked host Andy Cohen, “Can you?” Yikes!!

Lady Gaga vs. Kelly Osbourne

What happened: In 2012, Kelly gave an interview to Fabulous Magazine and said that she was bullied online by Lady Gaga fans after she called her a “butterface” back in 2009. Gaga responded with an open letter on her website — which has since been deleted — and said she had empathy for Kelly, but felt it “culturally important to note that [she chose] a less compassionate path,” since Kelly was a panelist on the E! show Fashion Police, which was all about critiquing celebrity fashion. Kelly’s mom Sharon was not impressed and responded with her own open letter that criticized Gaga for not handling the situation in private and for not telling her fans to stop spreading hate to Kelly.

Has it been resolved? After a truly ~strange~ turn of events, Gaga offered Kelly a birthday cake — that she had actually sent to Sharon — as a peace offering. At first, Kelly was unamused and told her to “#EatMyShit,” but it appears that the two have put that behind them! In 2014 they reconciled at Elton John’s Oscar party.

Kim Kardashian vs. Bette Midler

What happened: In 2016, Kim tweeted a nude selfie. Evidently, Bette Midler was not impressed and tweeted, “If Kim wants us to see a part of her we’ve never seen, she’s gonna have to swallow the camera.” Kim responded that it was past Bette’s bedtime “but if [she was] still up and reading this send nudes #justkidding,” and then called out Bette for being a “fake friend,” claiming that the star once sent her a gift before her Twitter rant.

Has it been resolved? Bette tweeted a few more times, but Kim never responded. Overall, this feud has been pretty much dormant since 2016, but I don’t really see these two breaking bread anytime soon!

Taylor Swift vs. Tina Fey / Amy Poehler

What happened: In 2013, Taylor had just broken things off with Conor Kennedy and had also recently been connected to Harry Styles and, to put it simply, her love life had become a huge topic of conversation in the media. Tina and Amy hosted the Golden Globes that year and Michael J. Fox’s son Sam was serving as Mr. Golden Globe. During the broadcast, Tina told Taylor to “stay away from Michael J. Fox’s son,” to which Amy replied, “Or go for it.” Tina said that Taylor needed “some ‘me time.’” Two months later, Taylor responded to the comments in Vanity Fair and said, “There’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help other women.”

Has it been resolved? Shortly after Taylor’s interview, Amy said she she felt “bad if [Taylor] was upset,” and Tina said it was “a lighthearted joke” and it was a “shame that she didn’t take it in the crazy-aunt spirit in which it was intended.” In January 2014, the ladies were back to host the Golden Globes. Tina congratulated Amy for winning Best Actress in a Television Series and said, “I love you, and there’s a special place in hell for you!” Tina snuck another reference to the now ~infamous~ quote into her Netflix show Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt in 2016. Taylor has remained quiet and it appears this feud is on the back burner!

Martha Stewart vs. Gwyneth Paltrow

What happened: In 2014, Martha came for Gwyneth and her Goop brand. She said, “She just needs to be quiet. She’s a movie star. If she were confident in her acting, she wouldn’t be trying to be Martha Stewart.”

Has it been resolved? Gwyneth has remained quiet on all of this, but Martha is still not impressed. In August 2019, Martha said that she doesn’t follow Goop and added, “Sometimes I look at products that [Gwyneth is] selling. … I wish every young entrepreneur well and I hope that there are many, many, many different kinds of entrepreneurs…if they’re movie stars or hardworking women like I am, who are not movie stars.” So…looks like this feud is going to continue!

Azealia Banks vs. Lana Del Rey

What happened: It all started in 2018 when Lana tweeted at Kanye West that “Trump becoming our president was a loss for the country but [your] support of him is a loss for the culture.” Azealia then tweeted and criticized Lana for working with A$AP Rocky, who had been charged with slapping a female fan. The two went back and forth and Lana famously said, “u know the addy. Pull up anytime. Say it to my face. But if I were you- I wouldn’t.” Azealia came for Lana’s appearance and then eventually threatened to sue the singer for threatening her.

Has it been resolved? Things are definitely quieter now…but it feels like this could easily heat back up if Lana or Azealia felt like it!

Clinton Kelly vs. Stacy London

What happened: Clinton and Stacy worked together for years on the hit TLC show What Not to Wear and it appeared the two were very close. Apparently, looks can be deceiving! In 2017 Clinton posted a screenshot on Twitter that informed him he was blocked from seeing any of Stacy’s tweets.

Has it been resolved? Clinton went on The Chew after his tweet blew up and claimed that there was “no tea” and he had “no beef with Stacy.” A few months later, Stacy addressed the drama and said she “unblocked a bunch of people” to allow herself to forgive people. Maybe there’s hope for a What Not to Wear reunion in the future??

Rihanna vs. Ciara

What happened: In 2011, Ciara was on the TV show Fashion Police and claimed that Rihanna “wasn’t the nicest.” Rihanna responded by tweeting, “My bad ci, did I 4get to tip u?”

Has it been resolved? The two singers fought a little more on Twitter, but eventually Rihanna ended things when she said she loves Ciara and was just “heartbroken” that her feelings had been hurt. Now it looks like there’s nothing but love here!

Giuliana Rancic vs. Zendaya

What happened: In yet ANOTHER Fashion Police-related feud, Giuliana Rancic criticized Zendaya for wearing her hair in dreadlocks at the 2015 Oscars, claiming she felt the then-18-year-old would “smell like patchouli oil and weed.” Zendaya responded on her Instagram and said “there is a fine line between what is funny and disrespectful” and that she was “hit with ignorant slurs and pure disrespect.”

Has it been resolved? Giuliana apologized for her comments and Zendaya said she appreciated the apology and was “glad it was a learning experience for [Giuliana] and for the network,” so it looks like there’s no bad blood and this feud has been put to rest!

Ryan Murphy vs. Kings of Leon

What happened: The feud began in 2011 when King of TV Ryan Murphy wanted to use one of Kings of Leon’s songs in an episode of Glee and the band, who “rarely license their music” said no. Ryan was NOT happy and called the group “self-centered assholes.” The band responded and said that Ryan should “let it go” and “see a therapist.”

Was it resolved? Ryan went on to apologize to the band a few months later. Frontman Caleb Followill said he was “glad he said something” and that the band doesn’t hold grudges.

Kanye West vs. Jimmy Kimmel

What happened: In 2013, Jimmy spoofed one of Kanye’s interview on his late night show and the rapper was none too pleased. Kanye took to Twitter and said Jimmy was “out of line” to spoof “the first honest piece of media in years.”

Has it been resolved? Kanye came on Jimmy Kimmel Live to bury the hatchet. Kanye claimed the beef was “real,” but it appears the two have put the past behind them.

Iggy Azalea vs. Britney Spears

What happened: Iggy and Britney released a song together called “Pretty Girls” back in 2015. A fan tweeted Iggy and said the song “flopped a bit,” to which Iggy replied that it is “difficult to send a song up the charts without additional promo and TV performances,” but “unfortunately,” she was just featured on the song and not the primary artist. People seemed to think she was shading Britney, but Iggy claimed this was just factual and she didn’t “have to suck the woman’s asshole 24/7” to be friends with her.

Has it been resolved? Iggy has remained adamant she and Britney are cool, so maybe we’ll hear them together on another song in the future??

Kelly Ripa vs. Michael Strahan

What happened: Before there was Kelly and Ryan — and after there was Regis and Kelly — Kelly sat next to former NFL player Michael Strahan on her weekday morning show. In April 2016, Michael announced that he was leaving the show to work on Good Morning America. Kelly was apparently “livid” and took time off to go on vacation. Things felt pretty awkward between the pair until the show went on summer hiatus in June.

Has it been resolved? It does not appear that these two former friends are, well, friendly. In January 2019, Michael claimed that he hadn’t spoken to Kelly “in a long time.”

And finally, Orlando Bloom vs. Justin Bieber

What happened: Though both Orlando and Justin are in happy, committed relationships now, back in 2014 things were a little messier. Justin was linked to model Miranda Kerr, Orlando’s ex-wife, and Orlando was reportedly seen throwing a punch at the singer in Ibiza.

Has it been resolved? We haven’t heard anything else from this for years now and it looks like both men have moved on. I think it’s safe to say this feud is dead!
