Kate Middleton is the leading royal style icon, according to a new study.
Tatler published research done by the style school Style Retail Academy in London on Friday that showed 47.8% of people surveyed favored the Duchess of Cambridge’s style compared to the 20.1% who chose her sister-in-law, Meghan Markle. The publication specified Middleton “proved popular across a spread of age demographics.”
“By embracing the style world and Princess Diana’s frequently daring design, Kate has learned how to balance patterns with tradition, and it’s nice to see that she is keeping tradition alive,” Lee Lucas, the principal and CEO of the Style Retail Academy, said.
In the 18-24 years of ages age, 50.67% elected Middleton as the royal with the very best style while 37.22% selected Markle. Middleton was also preferred among the 55+ age, compared to Markle who scored 9.07% of the vote in the exact same group.
“Meghan may have commanded more column inches recently but it is Kate who has actually emerged as the royal leading the fashion stakes by a country mile,” Lucas stated. “In addition to popular designers, both duchesses have been seen using high street names such as Zara, Topshop, and Marks & & Spencer, which right away makes them more relatable to the British public and their fashion choices more accessible.”
Markle and her husband just recently announced that they were stepping away from royal responsibilities after Markle received severe analysis in the British press, which was sometimes racially charged.
After Middleton and Markle, Queen Elizabeth was named the 3rd most prominent royal fashion icon, with one in 10 of those surveyed selecting her as the favorite, according to Tatler.
Another royal that can be found in the leading spot was Prince Harry with 13.9% of the vote while Prince William was available in 2nd with 11%. Overall, 19% of those surveyed stated they are influenced by royal fashion.
